Thanks for this awesome opp. I lived in Japan for nearly four years and it's where my heart lies :) Here are my answers;

1 The fish market in Tokyo - Tsukiji. Once headed there at 4am after an all nighter, and as a vegetarian it was quite the experience.

2 Never Let Me Go is by Kazuo Ishiguro. I had to read this for my A Level English class and did not appreciate it at all back then. Now that I'm "grown up" I think it's wonderful!

3 Sake is made from rice. Yummy.

My email addy is laura_pepper at hotmail dot co dot uk.
Arigatou!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8590413918586199527.post-35439956358362915592011-07-11T15:58:22.923+01:002011-07-11T15:58:22.923+01:00Hello! One of the best meals I've ever had was standing to the side of a stall with a bowl full of steaming fresh fish and noodles! YUM!
And I didn't know the answer to Q2 without googling it. But I did know sake is made from rice.

Sounds like a fun story! Also, glad to see your Milano trip was lovely. :)PK HREZOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11650153097981426833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8590413918586199527.post-67884713318138078752011-07-11T01:18:18.689+01:002011-07-11T01:18:18.689+01:00This sounds intriguing. The fish market is Tsukiji (I was in Tokyo for 24 wonderful hours and never made it anywhere close to the fish market)
2.The author of "Never Let me go"? Kazuo Ishiguro. I've never read the book and it's not even one I remember from my BnN days although I do remember him from "Remains of the Day" and "Nocturnes"
3. And saki is made of Rice. I've never had it but I did know what it was made of without having to look it up.
And I am actually assuming you don't mind if we look them up because I had no clue about the first two until I did and I think the real point is the drawing, yes? If not then, you can put my name in your doesn't have a clue hat. (lol)

Glad you had a lovely time!!! Time for a drink! Perhaps a Vermouth Cassis tonight... *clink*Danettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15043881305977386629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8590413918586199527.post-62402326444352452632011-07-08T23:53:45.302+01:002011-07-08T23:53:45.302+01:00ok, I could cheat and look it up, but I won't ...ok, I could cheat and look it up, but I won't since that would be, well, cheating! I do not know the answer to #1. I did, however, read Never Let Me Go (sadly my son has the book so I can't even go look in my bookcase!) and I believe he also wrote The Remains of the Day but I cannot remember his name. I'm pretty sure sake is made from rice. But not positive.mshatchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06308916014310536449noreply@blogger.com
