Fanatical about writing

Football Chevre, anyone?

I am feeling ludicrously happy.  Whilst the rest of the country maybe fanning themselves with the colours of their chosen football team in anticipation of what's it called again?  The World Cup dearie...now pass me that crocheted blanket for my knees and shush up.  I'm watching telly, hisses the old lady.

Watch away, football fans!  I shall be doing my own little flag dance over my WIP.  I finally printed off Chapter One v18 and yes I feel ridiculously giddy about it.  Although it could be pure horse manure, I'm rather proud of it.  Silly right?  It's the small milestones that are meaningful in this journey.

Are you enjoying your own writing? I read somewhere that you should print off your first 10,000 words and fan yourself with them, breathe them in and wave them across your face and anyone else sitting nearby.  Be proud - you wrote that. Little old you!  Pat yourself on the back, dance a little jig, run a victory lap around the house.  Feels good right?  Now, back to work!

Happy Writing, Editing, Re-drafting, Re-writing to everyone!!

A/N:
*  Offerings will be made to football gods to keep England in the tournament; I like it when the whole city is smiling.
*  Photo snapped at local cheese monger - they're a talented bunch.

Congrats on getting Chapter One to a happy place....I'll be happy when the first draft is done! Of course, I've done so much interim editing already, is it really still just the first draft?

Hi Vicki! Thats a good point. How much is truly left of the first draft after hours of re-writes and editing? Some of my chapters are barely recognisable from the first drafts and also I've been swapping them around like a crazy woman...I feel like they may jump out of my PC and shake their fingers at me...*one more change lady and thats it* LOL. Happy writing! And thanks for stopping by! :)

OH yeah, BABY!!! You SHOULD feel good about it! It's the journey, not the golden prize (or some such crap like that) ;-)

Ah Christina!! You made me laugh so hard. ;-D Yes!! And if I want to take my own brand of horse manure on a journey, I will ( dammit!)
Thanks for visiting! ;-)))

Hello! Love the idea of printing off the first 10,000 words to use as a fan - it feels so gloriously decadent! Good luck with your writing!

Hello Jayne! Welcome! I agree, gloriously decadent - but absolutely necessary. Got to breath in those lovely pages and think...yes I made that. Thanks so much the follow, and do come visit again! ;)

I never feel like I've really accomplished anything until I have a first draft. I like your method better!
I'm watching basketball finals. It either ends tonight or Thursday. I'm another American who doesn't care all that much about football/soccer.

Congrats to you and your 10k word fan. I've never tried making a fan of my work. Most of mine lives in virtual land on my trusty laptop. I'm in the about to query stage and about to complete chapter 2 of a new manuscript. School ends in one week and then I'm getting busy!

Hi Talli! I love a happy dance! Victory laps around the room are great too. ;)

Hello India! I always find a carrot along the way keeps me going. Can't wait to finish my first draft in it's entirety, I may have to breakout with a little karaoke and dancing for that milestone! ;)

Hi Theresa! Thanks so much! I needed to print off the first chapter after so many rewrites and the fanning felt so good! Am halfway through my first draft on my first WIP. Congrats on getting to query stage and starting your next MS! That must be an amazing feeling. Enjoy the basketball too! Go Team Theresa! ;)
Yes, i enjoy my own writing, sometimes too much. makes it so much harder to delete a scene that's unnecessary. and fanning myself with my first 10,000 words - i'd never thought of that before.

HI Michelle, welcome! I usually save my edits - you know just in case...they're like nurtured little things that need saving. Thanks for visiting and for following. Cheers!
