Creative Writer Blogger Award

Ladies and Gents, please dust off your finest frocks and suits - pick-up a glass of your favourite beverage from the drinks trolley - we toasting the delightful Terry Stonecrop at Gardner Private Eye who has bestowed us with a fabulous Creative Writer Blogger Award!  Thank you so much Terry!

On accepting this lovely award - I am to share six outrageous lies about myself and one honest truth. Your mission is to decide which of the following lies is actually the truth!

1.  I have a Japanese tattoo on my left hip.

2.  For the last five years I have celebrated my birthday with a bungee jump!

3. An ex-boyfriend once named his boat after me...alas he renamed it shortly after we broke up.

4.  On a dare, I have eaten a Thai green curry cricket, two crispy caterpillars and one barbequed ant.

5.  In my early teens I was a trained classical ballet dancer; by my early twenties I decided to join a convent.  Get thee to a nunnery...and I did.

6.  I often fly to Paris for a weekend jaunt in my private jet.

7.  Last summer, I spent the holidays sailing with friends from England to Antigua.

My Own Private Island...or is it?
I'll be reading your guesses from here!
And now, *Cue drum roll, release those pink balloons and shower everyone in sparkly fairy dust*  I would love to pass this wonderful award onto four more lovely souls:

Mya @ Elbows on my window sill
Summer Ross @ My Inner Fairy
Jayne @ A Novice Novelist
Jennifer Shirk @ Me, My Muse and I

Congratulations everyone and happy writing to all!

A/N: Photo courtesy yours truly. I will let you know in my next post which one is the bold faced truth!

Hello Talei! Aw thank you for the Award (and congrats on receiving it yourself!). Yeay!

And now let's see... *dons Miss Marple tweed* - you twice mention something to do with sailing, so I think one of those most be the truth, and you have a picture that looks like it was taken from a boat... so could this be the boat to England, or from the ex-boyfriend's boat? Okay, I am plumping for 7 is the honest truth. Great answers for all though!

Running around gathering my loose ends, stopped a minute, looked at the computer and was I surprised? dramatic pause...Well, yes I was. Talei, I thank you, humbly, I thank you, and am more than pleased to be grouped with these talented bloggers.
Now I have to read carefully to be sure I know what I am suppose to do. And I will do that as soon as I finish all these pesky errands. Have not had time to do any posting this week, but am trying to keep up with my reading of blogs.
Krista said…
Ooh, umm... I guess, #7... or #4!

Love your blog!
Mya said…
Ok, let's figure this out.
1. Tatoo - why not - but not sure.
2. Bungee Jump - that sounds like fun, but could be too dangerous.
3. Boat - I am sure you could dazzle him enough to name his boat after you, and afterwards he would just be too heart broken to see your name.
4. Different foods - we all get hungry.
5. Ballet - you did like ballet, but do not think your training went that far.
6. Paris - Yes, I can see you doing that, but have not heard you mention the jet.
7. Sailing across the Atlantic - Wow.
Yes, you could probably do all, but I have to pick one, so it will be: 4
Since I just began following, I won't even hazard a guess!

I'm going with #3 all the way. You so seem like you would inspire boat naming. He was foolish to change it.

Dying to have you confirm that I am absolutely right in your next post. ;)

We've only just met. I've no idea which is the truth. But not even on a dare would those things - not even barbequed!
Talei said…
Haha! Nice guesses Mya!

You're very welcome on the award! ;)I look forward to hearing your 7 outrageous truths!

I love reading your guess work - what do you mean I've not mentioned the jet? Hehe. Maybe I've saved it till now.

Have a lovely weekend! ;)

Hi Krista,

Welcome! And I do love those 2 guesses - they seem the most popular numbers thus far! ;)
Talei said…
Hi Alex,

Welcome!!! And okay you're excused from guessing this time round! ;)
Talei said…
Hello Nicki,

Lovely to have you here too! And I do like your guess...mmm we could all inspire men to launch boats methinks! ;)

Hello Carol!

Welcome! Lovely to meet you.

mmm gourmet crunchies, not even on a dare? How with chilled champagne? ;D
Hey Talei! Thanks for stopping by my blog! This bar-b-que was a great idea!

Here's the recipe to frog eye salad! It's more of a dessert in my opinion. SO good!

Ingredients

* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1 3/4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 1 tablespoon lemon juice
* 3 quarts water
* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* 1 (16 ounce) package acini di pepe pasta
* 3 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
* 2 (20 ounce) cans pineapple tidbits, drained
* 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
* 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
* 1 cup miniature marshmallows
* 1 cup shredded coconut

Directions

1. In a sauce pan, combine sugar, flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pineapple juice and eggs. Stir and cook over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat; add lemon juice and cool to room temperature.
2. Bring water to a boil, add oil, remaining salt and cook pasta until al dente. Rinse under cold water and drain.
3. In a large bowl, combine the pasta, egg mixture, mandarin oranges, pineapple and whipped topping. Mix well and refrigerate overnight or until chilled. Before serving add marshmallows and coconut. Toss and serve.

Enjoy!

Hi, Talei. Thanks for coming into my blog from the BBQ and now here I am, and glad to be here. I'm your latest new follower. I've just read several of your posts and find you wonderfully witty.

That nursery rhyme is out of my childhood!! I haven't thought of it for years, well, actually for many, many decades!

I'm guessing #7 is the truth, but what do I know. I'm glad no one's ever asked me to do this because I don't think I could do it! Yours is a very sparkling list.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend - over there.

Hi Talei, just thought I'd pop on over, say hi and return the follow! I've now got sucked into guessing which of your seven lies is actually a truth.... and I reckon it's no.7.

Looking forward to hearing if I'm right (or if you really do enjoy eating exotic insects....)
i'd say # 7,3 and 1 are correct, thanks for stopping by my blog

Hello Ann,

Thank you for so much for your wonderful comments. I've had such a great time meeting new writerly friends this weekend.

The nursery rhyme is from my childhood too, its definitely one I remember singing often especially when it rained. I had no idea on the origins until recently though. ;)

Great guessing - number 7 seems to resonate with alot of friends thus far. We shall see in the reveal this week. ;)

Thanks for stopping by and for following back. Have a lovely week!

Oh, I missed this, I was gone for Labor Day weekend.

I'm guessing the boyfriend who named his boat after you. And haha, renamed it. LOL!
Talei said…
Oh Terry!

Welcome back. I posted the truth in my next post - it was tasting those exotic bugs! Gasp! I know, see what happens when you are dared under the influence. The boats and sailing were very popular, although there was a half truth in the naming, I'll save that for a story. ;)
Terry Stonecrop said…
LOL, I did notice that later. All sorts of things happen under the influence but how would we ever try these daring deeds otherwise?:)

Oh, I would love to hear the story of the boat naming. Too cool!:)

You are hilarious!
