Late Summer Hues

Watching green turn gold,
Evening shadows take the sun,
Adieu my dear friend.

Summer is not quite over but the leaves are changing colours, so many beautiful golden hues. And there's a chill lingering in the early evening air...I am a little sad to farewell my friend the sun.  How about you?

I am not ready to say good bye to the sun! Oh, but the gentle breeze of fall is soooo wonderful :)

First off, love the photo...
We really don't have much of a change of seasons here, we had about 10 days of really warm weather where I live...

I will miss summer, it's true, but I have a lot to look foward to this winter, so I will embrace what is. :)
I'm still mourning the end of summer.

I always feel a certain tinge when summer ends. I love fall, the crispness in the air, the vibrant colors, and so on. But there's something about summer's last rays that shine through a nostaligic cloud.
As a South Floridian, unfortunately I can't share your sadness. Our summer doesn't disappear until December, and I am happy to bid that time of year Adieu. Come enjoy a South Florida winter, and you'll see why ;-)

That photo is lovely.

It's been hot as hell here since May...yesterday was still in the 90's (F) and humid. Today, glorious day, we finally have a fall-ish feeling day. Low humidity, breezy and high 70's/low 80s. ♡ *swoon*

No leaves are turning her yet...but today gives me hope. :)

@Candyland - I love the dark, especially if I get to snuggle with someone!

@Bethany - I know right? Its sad to farewell summer but there's a certain mystique about Fall. I love walking in the park, rustling through the leaves.

@ Patrick, thanks! I did enjoy your pictures from your roadtrip too! ;)

@JW - I love winter - especially if it snows! And I'm curious is there something else happening for you this winter? ;)

@Karen, Don't worry summer will be back soon. ;) Have you recovered from your amazing BBQ fest? Thanks so much again sweetheart, it was quite a party! Met so many lovely souls!

@Kittie - I think you summed it up very eloquently my dear! Its like watching the sunset on the last day of your vacation and not wanting it to end. Thanks so much for coming by. ;)

@Wendy, Ooh I'm coming right over! Do you know I've never been to Florida? You're so lucky with such a long summer! ;)

Thanks so much for visiting, I know blogger seems a wee bit buggy lately! Hope to see you again. ;)

Hello lovely Lola, thanks so much. Hope you get some cooller evenings soon. Its the evenings I enjoy most, I've been watching the leaves in the nearby park turn a delicious golden hue this past week.

PS: And I want to know how do you make those heart symbols?

Beautiful photo!

Another Floridian here. Summer is rainy season and hurricane season. Never mind steamy season. But I prefer it to New England's ice and snow.

Hope you're enjoying your nice cooler evenings:)

Aw, thanks Terry! Steamy season? *raises eyebrows* sounds very seductive...do you get much writing done during that time? :O

I haven't been to New England but I hear its beautiful - gosh all these lovely places to visit in the US!

Lol, Talei! Hadn't thought of the season that way. Probably not:D

Summer is my favorite time of year & am always so sad to see it go. In CA it just takes an intermission but some of the trees do lose leaves.
