Very interesting post... I hate bibliographies because it reminds me of essays from Uni and how I'm always getting the format wrong.

I love the picture you chose! :)
I too, struggled with the formatting for bibliographies. Ugh!!!! But the photo is great!

Cheree, am hearing ya. Formatting and quoting sources, the bane of my study years. ;-)

Bz, thanks! I chose it carefully. In direct contradiction of 'systematic' listing of books, that would be me.

Words Crafter, cheers! Likewise, a necessary evil, non? ;-)

Love that picture!

Bibliographies remind me of school and reports. Thank goodness I don't have to do much of those anymore.
A word used all through life -- nice to know the source.
Enjoy the weekend.

I love them, they're a great way to learn about history!
I love etymology! And you have great taste in music. I think the covers of Fleet Fox's albums make for excellent fantasy settings. Here via the challenge, thanks for a great post.

I cannot say that I enjoyed having to include bibliographies with school papers (mainly due to the rigid rules of listing everything) but I do wish more people would include even an informal list of references when they are writing more than just there own opinion.

Since I'm a grad student in history, bibliographies are my life! And for those who commented about how difficult formatting was, they have great programs that do all that for you now! Isn't technology wonderful? :-)

More Greek today, as well. Hoorah! I love looking at the root of words and finding out where they come and what they share with other words and how they grow. Cool post.
