G is for Garden

If you could spend an afternoon, writing in the garden, well...wouldn't you?  Spring has well and truly sprung in London, -our dear Lady Summer is knocking at the gate and the wonderful evening light doth linger.  It's time to shake off those dusty picnic rugs, polish the sunglasses, grab a great big fabulous hat and head outside.  Parasols too, my lovely flowers, especially if you intend sitting in the sun.  *le gasp*  Don't worry, it's absolutely safe and guilt-free, writers can venture beyond the windows and french doors.

Grab your laptop, netbook, pillow, and a lovely long drink...um, hang on....did someone say, 'pillow'?  Well, you never know, dear ladies, ahem and gents -all that creative word-crafting...your grey cells may require a nap.  So, back to the list...pillow, picnic rug...book?  Yes.  Perfect, all set then...see you in the garden!

A/N: If you do take a trip to Paris, you must visit Versailles, splendid palace and outstanding grounds.  Worth a turn around the garden my dears.
Happy Friday Everyone, this week has flown by so quickly, I've barely had time to catch my breath.  Plans for the weekend? - Moir, I'm completely open...I think?  Sleeping and relaxing is on the agenda methinks.  How about you? Have a wonderful weekend!

Funny you should say this, because it's exactly what I'm going to do this afternoon! I'm grabbing a book, blanket and heading to the park.

Have a great weekend!

I would but there's a wasps nest down the back and I'm pretty sure they're planning something...

To get to my nearest (nice) park I feel I am packing for a week-long trek - but it is good to get outside and feel the sun on your skin. Enjoy!

You are one of my A-Z highlights for today! :)

Spring is on the calendar here, but that's about it. I'd have to wear my winder jacket to sit out in the garden. Rumor has it that it will get warm next week. Hope to take your advice then.

That sounds so nice. I wish I could, but the weather here is sunny one minute, raining the next (seriously it lasts for five minutes every hour).

This is such a good idea, and the photos make me think I need to make scones before heading out! I'll have to get some clotted cream, too . . . who knew how much planning would be involved to go out and enjoy the sun?

Okay, now I have a sudden urge to visit the Botanical Garden. But without the frilly dress. Beautiful pics!

I write so much better when I can garden along side the process. The words flow easier when my fingers smell like tomato plants and I edit better when there is dirty under my finger nails.

I'd love to be able to sit in soft grass as those ladies above are doing. But alas around here we have fire ants and chiggers to contend with!

Sounds lovely. At the moment, I near the beach and not a good place for a laptop with the winds kicking up the sand. But what a wonderful thought. When I return back to Chicago, I will be doing just that. I live a near one minute pace to Chicago's most beautiful park. I see if from every window in my condo. Life is good during the summer months.

I think writers especially love this time of year because we're always cooped up inside.
Happy Friday!

I had been planning to do just that today, but I guess I forgot to mention it to the rain that has started.

Oh you are making me homesick for London - what a lovely post. And you have found the most beautiful images!!! A pillow is definitely a must though! I am now dreaming of Hampstead Heath

I wish I had a garden, but that would mean tending it, and me and growing things just doesn't really work lol.

lol I wish I could go sit out in the garden sadly my hubby is in the process of leveling it all out at the moment so theres no grass and it looks like a building site. still hopefully he'll have finished the job before summer is out and it'll look so much better for it.
still living in cornwall I could always pack a picnic and head out into the fields around the village with it and my laptop, or even head up to the moors, which would be great inspiration as its on those very mores that my current novel is set. hmmmmm bodmin moor or the fields well its food for thought.

I would love to do that. The weather is getting nicer every day. Now I just have to find that perfect garden to spend an afternoon in...

Beautiful pictures and an excellent idea for a change of scenery. I need that when I write. I have birthdays to celebrate and will be in full party mode for the weekend.

have just treated myself to a netbook for that very idea - don't want to miss the fleeting good weather - further north than you but still the sunshine beckons and the muse says mustn't stop so the two must be combined - lovely pictures - thank you
