I is for 'I Write, therefore I am'

"Cogito, Ergo Sum"
"Je pense donc je suis'
"I think, therefore I am"
- Rene Descartes 1637

I LOVE this phrase, -everyday you see variations of it everywhere, cards, shopping bags, posters, magazines.   It got me thinking...

I shop, therefore I am
I sleep, therefore I am
I breathe, therefore I am
I eat, because I can...well, must.
I run...actually I don't...however...
I read, therefore I am
I laugh, because I must,
I cry, therefore...
I live, therefore...

For writers perhaps, it is simply...

"Scribo, Ergo Sum"
"I write, therefore I am"

Oh, yes. Indeed I do.
How about you?

A/N:  Happy Monday, Happy Scribing!  Happy Reading, Happy like, everything!  Have a lovely week all!

Ooh, I love the slogan. I don't know what I would be doing if I didn't write (probably going a bit crazy). That slogan definitely sums me up.

I love it. Writing definitely makes me feel more alive than not writing.

I erase therefore I write.

Writing is certainly a validation of existence isn't it; especially when others read what we have written. Our presence is acknowledged.

Mine would be more along the lines of I should write, therefore I procrastinate.

By the by, if I don't think will I disappear?

I write and therefore I stay sane. If I don't all in sundry had better take cover.

I write, therefore, I'm a writer. :) An obvious statement, but sometimes we take this fact for granted just because we aren't published yet. It helps to remember that for as long as our pens (or computers) are spewing out stories and words, we are writers.

Love this! I am a writer. Even though I don't have contracts or published books to show for it, it doesn't diminish the spirit in my heart. Thanks for sharing!

Found you through the A-Z challenge and will now be following!

I am enjoying reading everyones comments! So pleased too, that everyone likes this mantra. 'Scribe Ergo Sum.' I say, we all chant it tonight before bed, and in the morning on waking, non? ;-))

I've followed back on everyones comments thus far, if I've missed anyone, its not my intention - please DO come back and let me know.

Also, you can catch me on twitter: @coco_dubai

Sweet dreams Lovelies x

Great mantra worth repeating over and over and over. It's inspiring to think like this. I feel as if my writing gives me power and energy. I could never not write.
